Rangers vs Giants Prediction

The Texas Rangers will remain in the Bay and face the San Francisco Giants in interleague play this weekend from Oracle Park on Apple TV. Texas held off a late San Fran rally to rake game one win by one, 2-1

Rangers Preview & Projected Starter

Texas moved to 69-47 after defeating San Francisco. The Rangers got back into the win column last nine, and they’ll look to pick things up at the plate here in game two. The Texas offense is scoring 4.88 runs per game, while batting .272, with a .341 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.77 ERA, with a 1.20 WHIP.

Andrew Heaney (9-6, 4.14 ERA, 118 Ks) will take the mound for Texas. The tenth-year pitcher delivered another solid outing last week, holding Miami scoreless thru 5.2 innings en route to his third straight victory. Heaney’s pitched shutout ball through his last two starts, and he’s in a great ballpark to pin win number ten down. Heaney’s first trip to the Bay this season went well in Oakland, striking out nine over six innings of work, and he’ll look to keep his strong form going here Saturday.

Marcus Semien has collected a hit in eight of the last ten games, and he leads the team in hits (132) and runs (93), with strong splits of .278/18/72.

Nathaniel Lowe has totaled multiple bases in three of the previous five games, and he’s posting a nice line of .280/13/62.

Giants Preview & Projected Starter

San Francisco comes in at 62-54 after losing to Texas. The Giants showed up a little too late last night, and they’ll look to avoid dropping a fourth straight here Saturday. The San Francisco offense is scoring 4.81 runs per game, while batting .250, with a .326 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.89 ERA, with a 1.29 WHIP.

Alex Cobb (6-3, 3.30 ERA, 91 Ks) will get the start for San Francisco. The twelfth-year righty had a puzzling outing across the bridge last week in Oakland, allowing five runs in 5.1 innings pitched, but he luckily avoided the loss. Cobb has delivered mixed results after earning his first career All-Star nod last month, he’ll attempt to get some consistency going with the postseason looming against Texas here.

Giants Player Trends & Props

J.D Davis homered in the lone victory this week against the Angels, and he leads SFG in hits (91) and home runs (15), with 55 RBI.

Wilmer Flores plated four runs in the game two loss, and after collecting multiple hits in four of the last six games, and he’s posting team-leading splits of .307/15/39.

Mike Conforto doubled in the game three defeat, and he’s tallied thirteen homers and 52 runs batted in for the season.

Corey’s Free Pick

Texas came through for us in game one, and I feel like we should sway their way again here. San Francisco got really close last night, but they’ve underwhelmed at the plate this season, and they haven’t been able to provide consistent run support. The matchup of Andrew Heaney and Alex Cobb will be solid as well, with the former streaking right now and the latter looking to bounce back from a bad spot in Oakland. Let’s back Texas as the strong team again in this pick ‘em spot, and give the Over a look in case things rev up Saturday night.
