Guardians vs Rangers Prediction

The Cleveland Guardians will head down to Arlington to face the Texas Rangers in a three-game set this weekend from Globe Life Field.

Guardians Betting Preview

Cleveland moved to 45-45 after taking three of four from Kansas City. The Guardians couldn’t complete the sweep, but they capitalized on the matchup to jump back to .500, and they’ll look to steal a few here in Arlington. MThe Cleveland  offense is scoring 3.98 runs per game, while batting .248, with a .313 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.86 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP. Ames Rosario has multiple hits in five of his last nine games, and he’s batting .268, with 34 RBI for the season. Jose Ramirez carried a six-game hit streak into the All-Star break, and he leads Cleveland in hits (97), while batting .289, with 14 homers and 55 RBI. Josh Naylor has produced a run in four of the previous six games, and he’s posting team-leads in batting (.305) and RBI (64).

Aaron Civale (3-2, 2.56 ERA, 44 Ks) will get the call for Cleveland. The fifth-year righty capitalized on a home spot against Kansas City at home to deliver his best outing of the season, tossing a season-high nine strikeouts over seven innings of shutout ball to earn his third win of the year. Civale has shown command and been rather steady through nine starts in 2023, allowing no more than two runs in seven of those appearances.

Rangers Betting Preview

Texas moved to 52-39 after dropping two of three to Washington. The Rangers dropped three straight series entering the All-Star break, and they’ll look open the second half on a more positive note. The Texas offense is scoring 4.88 runs per game, while batting .272, with a .341 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.77 ERA, with a 1.20 WHIP. Marcus Semien doubled twice against the Nats, and he leads the team in hits (104) and runs (70), with splits of .271/11/56. Corey Seager has collected multiple hits in four of the last five games, and he’s leading the AL in batting (.353), with twelve home runs and 52 RBI. Adolis Garcia has produced multiple runs in four of the previous seven games, and he leads the Rangers in home runs (23) and RBI (75).

Jon Gray (6-5, 3.29 ERA, 75 Ks) will take the mound for Texas. The ninth-year pitcher dropped three straight starts heading into the All-Star break, after opening the season on a strong note. Gray has allowed four runs or more in three of his last four outings, while failing to surpass four strikeouts in any of them, and he’ll look to turn things around here versus Cleveland.

Cleveland vs Texas Trends

Cleveland is 44-46 against the spread this season, with a 35-52-3 O/U record. Texas is 53-38 ATS this year, with a 47-36-8 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

The All-Star break couldn’t have come at a better time for Texas, as they’ve slid into the month of July, and I think they come out with some energy here in a return to the field. The Rangers still remain one of the top offenses in the league, and they should be able to regain their stride here. Cleveland built a little momentum of their own heading into the break, but Texas isn’t Kansas City, and they won’t be able to bully them here in Arlington. Back the Rangers for game one, and give the Over a look as well.
