Dykes could make history as a national champion ex-Cal coach
Sonny Dykes was fired by Cal football in 2012. He was hired by Texas Christian University in 2013. TCU is playing Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday evening. If TCU wins, Dyke will become only the third Cal head coach to win the national championship. The other two Cal coaches are Stub Allison and Andy Smith. Justin Wilcox has been the head football coach at Cal for six years. His record is 22-23. Dyks was the offensive analyst for TCU in 2018. In 2019, he was appointed head coaching at Southern Methodist University.
