Echo Zulu Starts In Her First Race Since May

Churchill Downs has one of its final prep races before the 2022 Breeders Cup season with the G3 Dogwood Stakes on Saturday. Echo Zulu is the favorite at 1-1 odds.

Echo Zulu is the best bet for the Dogwood Stakes. She finished fourth in the Longines Kentucky Oaks. Echo Zulu won the G1 Spinaway Stake at Saratoga, G2 Frizette Stages at Belmont and the NetJets Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar last year.

Chasing Fireflies is second in the program at 20-1 odds. John Alexander Ortiz Trainee hasn't raced in a primary stakes race this year. Her most recent workout was strong, going five furlongs in 1.00.4.

Colorful Mischief makes her first stakes race start after a win this past August at Saratoga Racetrack in Saratsog Springs, New York. Echo Zulu starts in her First Race Since May.

Tarabi is looking for her third lifetime win. Cherie DeVaux trainee has had a good season with a first-place finish and second-placed finish in her two starts. She ended the season finishing third behind Echo Zulu in the Grade 1 NetJets Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar.

Echo Zulu starts in her first race since May. Gunning is a rookie racer who has only raced in three races this season. She finished third in the ungraded Runhappy Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park this past August.

Last Leaf has won the previous three races she's started. Last Leaf most recently ran alongside Gunning in the ungraded Runhappy Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park this past August. The three-year-old finished third in G3 Foward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream Park and fourth in G2 Herecomesthebride Stake at Gulfstream.

Wicked Halo is the second Steve Asmussen trainee. She is going to race against Echo Zulu in the Dogwood Stakes. Wicked Halo won the Priories Stake at Saratoga in September.

Echo Zulu is the top bet for the Dogwood Stakes. Wicked Halo is second. Trifecta 1 7 3, Superfecta 7, and Colorful Mischief are the other bets. Belmont At The Big A has its premier meet day on October 1st.
