Elias Pettersson is about to take off for the Vancouver Canucks. He hasn't attended a Canucks Training Camp since January of 2020. Pettersen missed last year's training camp due to ongoing contract negotiations. The 23-year-old center had a career year in 2021/22. In 2021-22 season he struggled with a wrist injury and a lack of training. He posted 11 points in 23 games through the first two months of the season. His .85 PPG was up from the .81 he put up in 2020/21. It was also down from .97 in his sophomore season, which he also missed.

The Canucks' top-nine is loaded with talent. Bo Horvat will be the nominal 3C, so Pettsson won't have to deal with defensive duties. He will hit his statistical prime at the age of 24. He is primed to have the best season of his career. His peak production years are between the ages of 23 and 28.
