Tip 1 - 1.40 Wolverhampton - Artisan Dancer

A 3rd last time out doesn’t tell the whole story, lost the lead close home and only beaten a neck by the winner. Back down to his best trip today he meets his conqueror from 2 runs ago Palace Boy on much better terms, and has a great chance to reverse the form at the weights.

Tip 2 - 2.15 Wolverhampton - Johnny James

This looks a competitive seven-furlong contest with several protagonists who could go close. Preference is for the unexposed Johnny James from the Michael Appleby yard, who has a win and two seconds from his three all-weather runs. The last two have come over course and distance and now drops in class for this race. Will have to overturn favourite Follow Your Heart, who bested our choice by a length that day, but there is a reversal of five pounds in Johnny James’ favour that could see the penny drop for the four-year-old.

Tip 3 - 3:45 Newcastle - Turner Girl

In what looks a fairly trappy race, full of horses moving up or down in distance, Turner Girl looks like the pick. She’s remarkably consistent, finishing in the frame in 12 of her 21 career starts, with one of her two wins coming here at Newcastle. Having run well this season over 1m2f and 1m6f, while racing prominently or being held up, she has the fewest question marks over her in a race full of them.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
