F1 Canadian Grand Prix predictions, odds, betting tips, best bets for 2023 race

As the F1 action returns to Montreal and the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve this weekend, Red Bull's Max Verstappen will be looking to claim a fourth race victory on the bounce to cement his 2023 World Drivers' Championship aspirations.

The Dutchman has been in stunning form of late and as expected, heads into the latest race of the season as the overwhelming favourite.

That said, teammate Sergio Perez still lurks, whilst Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will be primed to strike given their double podium finish last time out in Barcelona.

Ahead of the action getting underway, The Sporting News dives through all of the odds to give you the best bets and tips for the upcoming 2023 Canadian Grand Prix.

F1 Canadian Grand Prix 2023 odds to win

After taking his third win in succession during the Spanish Grand Prix last weekend, Max Verstappen understandably enters the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix as the heavy favourite.

At -275 with BetMGM, the Dutchman is poised to win for a second straight year in Montreal according to bookmakers.

His closest competitor comes in the form of teammate Sergio Perez who at +500 represents good value for money here. That said, the Mexican driver struggled heavily in Barcelona, failing to get out of Q2 during Saturday's qualification session.

After their impressive double podium last time out, Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell come into this latest race much fancied compared to in recent months.

Full list of odds for drivers to win the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix

Odds via BetMGM (USA), Sports Interaction (Canada), SkyBet (UK), Neds (Australia) and Dafabet (India). Odds correct as of June 13.

F1 Canadian Grand Prix 2023: Best bet

  • Pick: Lewis Hamilton to finish on the podium
  • Odds: +100 (BetMGM)

Whilst the start of this season proved a slog for German team Mercedes, last weekend's double podium for teammates Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in Barcelona proved a real highlight for the constructor.

That result ensured their jump above Aston Martin into P2 of the Constructors' standings and it also highlighted their growth across recent races given that their pace seemed much improved thanks in part to a sided redesign.

Due to that, we're backing Hamilton to claim another podium this weekend in Montreal. Whilst Russell represents bigger odds, Hamilton holds all the experience needed to succeed at the Canadian Grand Prix, winning this race seven times — the joint-most alongside Michael Schumacher.

F1 Canadian Grand Prix 2023: Prop bet

  • Pick: Max Verstappen fastest qualifier, win race & fastest lap
  • Odds: 9/4 (SkyBet)

Given his superior form so far this season, why not back Verstappen to complete another treble here in Montreal?

His dominance in Spain saw him qualify in pole position, win the race by over ten seconds and claim the fastest lap award and at 9/4 with SkyBet, the value seems to good to turn down. That value seems even better considering that the fast nature of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve should suit the Red Bull car down to a tee like in Spain.

The Dutchman also won this race last season, whilst he's claimed top spot in qualifying four times through seven races so far in 2023. Similarly, he's also recorded the fastest lap four times this season.

F1 Canadian Grand Prix 2023: Flier bet

  • Pick: Gasly, Ocon, Piastri & Russell Points Finish
  • Odds: 13/2 (SkyBet)

At 13/2 (+650) with SkyBet, this is a flier bet but one that comes with a solid chance at the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix.

Let's start with the most likely and work down the list. After a P3 finish in Barcelona last weekend, Russell looks primed to claim a points finish especially given Mercedes improvements in recent races.

Next up comes the Alpine pair of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly. The French team started slowly this season but have really hit form of late, highlighted in particular by Ocon's podium finish in Monaco. On top of that, Gasly has finished in the top ten in each of his last three races, with his teammate also achieving that feat.

The sticking point of this bet comes with McLaren's Oscar Piastri. He may have only taken five points during his debut season so far, but the young Australian continues to push the top ten in recent races. His P10 finish in Monaco highlighted his growing confidence and with a number of other drivers struggling around him of late, another top ten finish in Montreal wouldn't surprise.
