Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have already added two trophies to their silverware cabinet for this season and they return to Premier League action this weekend with an away trip to face Sheffield United. The Blades are winless since returning to the top flight and Phil Thompson reckons they’re going to go at least one more game without a win.

The Liverpool legend finished the last Premier League season in great tipping form and he’s got two top tips for Sunday’s showdown at Bramall Lane.

Even saying this as an ex-Blade I just cannot really see them doing anything in this match. It’s been a difficult start for them, they’ve lost their opening two Premier League games against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest and, it’s not really been that tough a start but they’ve failed to get any points on the board from both of their fixtures so far.

The last time they were in the Premier League, in 2021, they failed to win any of their first 17 games.

Manchester City have scored in all but one of their last 32 games in all competitions. I think Sheffield United fans will be watching this from behind the couch, even if they do watch it.

I can’t even see the Blades scoring, to me this looks like a Man City 0-3 win with Erling Haaland getting at least one goal.
