Hawkesbury preview: Mabel aiming to maintain strong first-up record

Tracey Bartley's horse Mabel has a good first-up record. She will run in the fourth race over 1000m at Hawkesbury on Wednesday. Bartly's other horse Kiss Sum came through his run at the Cantala Stakes in good fashion. The form is complete. Find a winner here. The horse has only had one trial. Mable has never won over more than 1000 metres. Anna Roper's claim puts 53kg on her back. Her horse Smuggler's Bay is also in this race. It's an even race with a lot of chances.

Luke Pepper's promising horse Zounique starts at the provincials on Wednesday. He will run in a Benchmark 64 Handicap (1500m) at Hawkesbury first-up off no barrier trial. Pepper wants Zoustar to be in midfield in the run if he can get there under Anna Roper whose claim gets him into the race with 59.5kg. Opal Ridge is Pepper’s best horse and he will bring her back when it's not hot. The filly will have another three weeks in paddock then she will be back.
