Horse racing tips: Best bets for Hawkesbury and Quirindi with Matt Jones

Chenin was scratched from a stronger race on Wednesday. Opito Ballerina carries 3.5kg less than the topweight. John O’Shea has put the blinkers on Tavi L‘amour for the first time.

Monastery drops back from a Group 2 race when running sixth and pulling up 2/5 lame. Kingdom Of Gold was well supported to win at Wyong and got the job done. White Boots likes racing at Hawkesbury and a Good 4 track is to his liking.

Silver City is racing in an in-form stable and is shooting for three-straight wins. Flying Sultan should look to jump and come across the field before the first bend. Retiro held off Our Belle Fille two back and it's since come out and won.

Altivo came from a near impossible spot to win on debut at Newcastle. Altivo should be even better over 1500m second-up with the same jockey on from the cushy draw. Surfers Royale hasn't missed a top three finish to date because of his toughness and on-speed style. Duke Of Buckingham got pipped late here last time.

Shamalie is going to win this race. Arliebel will likely be ridden cold. Sensational Reward should lead or box seat from the inside gate. Peter Sinclair from Adelaide has a good fresh record.

Second Half beat home Moorabinda Mick last start over a mile at Scone. Maly Malt comes into this race now that she's back on a heavy track. Eva's Deel isn't as good on wet ground. Danspur has had 58 runs but only two on heavy tracks for one placing.

The Affirmative is the best bet for Hawkesbury and Quirindi with Matt Jones. Inferno Miss and Lavish Lady are also good bets. Lan Kwai Fong is a chance to win over 1000m.

Cheval De Course is well placed in Race 7. Titration is fourth-up now and should have a chance. Shaolin Temple resumes without a barrier trial.
