Horse racing predictions: Goodwood, Galway and Leicester

There are five race meetings scheduled across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. Flat racing dominates the day with cards at Leicester, Catterick, Goodwood, and Galway. National Hunt cards are from Hexham and Hexam.

Enda McElhinney's horse racing predictions for Tuesday are below. Goodwood, Galway and Leicester are his favourites.

Sirona won at Beverley nine days ago. She was on the pace throughout the 7½-furlong journey and moved well clear inside the final furlongs. Serious Look was the runner-up. SironA is riding Derby-winning rider Richard Kingscote. Amy Murphy’s Ipanema Princess and Richard Hughes-trained Candle Of Hope have more experience.

AZALLYA is the favourite in the Listed race for fillies and mares over 1m 4f at Galway. Trainer Dermot Weld is keen to land the event for the fourth time in eight years. Aga Khan-owned filly shed her maiden tag on soft ground at Cork in August last year and finished the season with a good second behind Jason The Militant in a Listing race at Naas.

The opening race is an apprentice contest over 1m 2f. The mare JEANETTE MAY won over course and distance in April 2021. She has only run four times since then, but she finished second by a neck at Chelmsford last month. Harry Davies rides her.
