Horse Racing Tips Friday 1st December 2023 best bets and most tipped horses

It's day one of Newbury's Coral Gold Cup meeting and they host some decent racing on Friday including the Grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle at 15:00 and we take a look at some of the most eye-catching selections running at the Berkshire track from our racing naps table. There should be some competitive action there and we not only pick out the best bets of the day, but also look at some of the notable stories hitting the racing headlines...

Paul Nicholls will have a strong team heading to Newbury over the next couple of days and the Ditcheat handler's most popular runner with the tipsters is Kandoo Kid, who has been napped by a whopping six of them for the 14:25 race. The likes of West Country from the Racing Post and Spotlight from the Racing Post have napped the 3/1 chance, who is yet to taste victory over fences, but has shown glimpses of talent finishing second at both Warwick and Newbury, so he will be looking to go one better today. Staying at Newbury, the Sarah Humphrey-trained Nickle Back is another popular selection and three tipsters have napped that 9/2 chance for the 13:50. Back-to-back wins at Stratford and Warwick have seen the progressive chaser start life over the larger obstacles in fine style and he will be looking to make the hat-trick today and is one to watch.

Horseracing.net says: "Kandoo Kid has been impressive on his two chasing starts, but is yet to get his head in front, but that can all change today when he runs in the 14:25 at Newbury. He's been upped 6lbs for his recent run, but he looks like one that can continue to improve and is more than capable of starring off 129."

Current naps table leader Rory Paddock veers away from Newbury's afternoon Jumps card and heads to Dundalk's all-weather fixture for his best bet of the day and the high-flying tipster has napped Adams Barbour in the 19:30 at Dundalk. A five times course-and-distance winner, Adams Barbour has been struggling of late, but has been dropping down the handicap and is well weighted to go close today. The Punt from the Racing Post is second in the naps table with a profit of £16.70 and that tipster is one that heads to Newbury on Friday and has napped the 9/4 shot Djelo in the 12:40 race, while West Country from the Racing Post is opting to side with the most popular nap of the day, Kandoo Kid, in the 14:25 race.

Naps Table Leaders Naps

  • Rory Paddock - 19:30 Dundalk - Adams Barbour
  • The Punt - 12:40 Newbury - Djelo
  • West Country - 14:25 Newbury - Kandoo Kid
