Houston Open Odds, Picks, PGA Tour Predictions: Memorial Park GC Draws Mixed Field

Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion of the 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open. Jason Kokrak left the tournament to play in the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Schefler finished T-3 at the World Wide Technology Championship last week. Sam Burns, Tony Finau, and Hideki Matsuyama are three of seven golfers from the top 50 of World Golf Ranking looking for a win. Russell Henley is also in contention after his victory last weekend.

Memorial Park GC has a mixed field for the Houston Open.

Scheffler is a consensus favorite for the Houston Open. Matsuyama is fourth in the OWGR but seventh by the odds at DraftKings and BetMGM. Henley won last week's WWT Championship with opening odds as high as +6000 via Draft Kings.

Kokrak won the Houston Open at Memorial Park Golf Course last year. The par-70 course is 7,412 yards long. There are six holes that were played below par last season. Last year's easiest hole was the 587-yard, par 5 third with a scoring average of 4.76.

Memorial Park GC is one of the longest and toughest non-major courses on the PGA Tour's rotation. Approaches from 200-225 yards will be most common for all in the field. Eight of top-10 leaders in SG: around-the-green last year finished in top 30 for the tournament.

Matthew NeSmith is making his third appearance at Memorial Park. He has three straight top-10 finishes on the fall swing. Ne Smith's last eight golf rounds have him gaining strokes off the tee, on approach, around the green, and on putting surfaces.

Joe Dahmen is a +4500 favorite for the Houston Open. He is coming off a T-3 finish last week and is ranked No. 100 in the OWGR. FanDuel offers odds of +3700. DraftKings offers better value.

Garrick Higgo is a long shot at +20000 on FanDuel. He is coming off a missed cut at WWT Championship last week. The South African is making his first appearance at Memorial Park. His first PGA Tour win will come in June 2021 at the Palmetto Championship.
