Indianapolis Colts vs Los Angeles Chargers Odds, MNF Picks & Predictions

Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers look to keep pace in a tight AFC Playoffs race as they head to Indianapolis to face the Colts in the Week 16 edition of Monday Night Football.

The Chargers (8-6) were in the No. 6 spot in the AFC heading into Week 16, but the No. 7 Dolphins are also at 8-6 with six additional teams at 7-7 or 6-8. The Colts are 4-9-1 and mostly out of the mix following the shocking 36-39 OT loss at Minnesota last week.

The latest Chargers vs. Colts odds have L.A. favored on NFL betting sites by 4.5 points with an Over/Under of 45 points.

Bookies.com NFL handicapper Adam Thompson – on a 67% run the last month for his NFL picks – locks in his best bets for the Monday night matchup.

The Colts led the Vikings 33-0 in the second half last week, only to lose in the biggest gag in NFL history. Now Indy soldiers on without top RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and QB Matt Ryan (benched) as the team plays out the year.

Here’s the thing: Nick Foles isn’t terrible, and the defense ranks top 10 vs. the run. Indy is only 2-4 at home but two losses were by a single point, the other two also by a single score. The Chargers’ one-dimensional offense may have issues. We’re not backing the Colts to win, even at home, but don’t expect a blowout. Take Indy +4.5.

Chargers vs. Colts Over/Under Best Bet

The Chargers have won three of four and gotten back on track because their defense has played better. With that, the Under has looked better, hitting in three straight L.A. games and four of its last five victories.

The Over has actually hit in Indy’s last three, bucking a season-long trend of Unders. The Under has been the winner in a majority of Colts home games and Chargers road games, too. The defenses should find an edge on Monday night. Back the Under.

Chargers vs. Colts Moneyline Pick

The favored Chargers are -215 on the moneyline while the Colts are at +185. We’re going with Indianapolis to cover the 4.5-point spread, but don’t trust them enough to pick a win, especially after last week’s debacle in Minnesota.

Los Angeles makes sense here, but expect a close game. The Chargers have lost three of their last four on the road, the lone win at brutal Arizona. We strongly prefer L.A. on this night, but that lack of consistency is enough to shy us off the moneyline. The spread is favorable over the ML.

Best Chargers vs. Colts Player Props

Nick Foles, Over 231.5 Pass Yards

With no Jonathan Taylor, an energetic, learning coach and likely facing a deficit in the second half, the Colts are going to throw the ball around. Foles got one start last year for the Bears; he threw for 250 yards with a far-worse offense than this one and beat the Seahawks as seven-point underdogs. No Joey Bosa offers a little extra time.

Cameron Dicker, Over 7.5 Points

The Colts rank 31st in red zone TD percentage. Fortunately LA has a kicker that’s missed one field goal all season and zero extra points. Cameron Dicker has scored eight-plus points in six of his eight games.
