Jaguars vs. Falcons expert picks and latest odds: Jacksonville, Atlanta go abroad for first London game of the year

The Jacksonville Jaguars play across the pond for the 10th time in franchise history this weekend (fantasy football players, make sure your lineups are set early), taking on the Atlanta Falcons. Despite losing by 20 last week, the Jaguars enter the game as slight favorites.

Kickoff is set for 9:30 ET on Sunday at Wembley Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN+.

The Falcons’ offense looked stagnant in last week’s 20-6 loss to Detroit. Desmond Ridder completed 55 percent of his passes and did not throw a touchdown, while Bijan Robinson rushed for just 33 yards on 10 carries. Atlanta’s offense has scored five touchdowns through three games, but it might face an easier matchup in London, as the Jaguars’ defense has given up 264 passing yards per game this year, seventh-worst in the NFL.

The Jaguars’ offense, meanwhile, outgained Houston in Jacksonville last week, yet still lost 37-17 to the previously winless Texans. Trevor Lawrence completed 27 of 40 passes, throwing a touchdown and an interception. The Jags rushed for 116 yards, a facet of their offense they might need to emphasize against Atlanta. The Falcons, so far this season, have allowed 117 rushing yards per game, which is about league average.

Fun fact: The Jaguars will be looking for a win in the first game of a two-week trip to London; the team plays an “away” matchup with the Buffalo Bills next weekend.
