Odds, picks & predictions

Jamaica: +185
Draw: +205
Canada: +145

Moneyline pick: Draw +205

Jamaica haven’t been able to get a win over Canada since their 2-1 win in Gold Cup play back in 2017. In the 6+ years since then, they’ve met up three times with two Canadian wins and one draw. Jamaica haven’t logged a goal against the Canadian side throughout those three matchups though, and they’ll look to put an end to that skid on their home soil this weekend.

There’s plenty to play for beyond just a spot in the 2024 CONCACAF Nations League Finals in March, as the winner of each quarterfinal series will also book a spot in the 2024 Copa America hosted by the United States next summer.

Jamaica brings four MLS players on their roster, headlined by captain and Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake. After taking down Honduras, Grenada, and Haiti in the group stage, the No. 55 Reggae Boyz will be anxious to continue their momentum against No. 45 Canada.

The Canadian side is headlined by the likes of Bayern Munich phenom Alphonso Davies as well as fellow former MLS player Cyle Larin and Lille striker Jonathan David.

Given the recent history between the two sides and the firepower Canada brings to the field on the heels of their second-ever World Cup appearance, I’m taking Les Rouges to hold Jamaica to a draw. It’s never easy traveling to another country and playing on their home soil as the visitors, but I think Canada escapes with a stalemate and at least one away goal in their favor.
