Kings vs. Hawks prediction and odds for NBA Summer League (Fade Kings without Keegan Murray)

fansided.com

The Sacramento Kings got a jump start on Summer League in the California Classic, and they’ll look to carry that into their matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

Atlanta has two draft picks from the 2023 NBA Draft that will make their Summer League debuts tonight, and the team finds itself as a favorite.

That’s mainly because Keegan Murray won’t play for the Kings after dominating in the California Classic.

Let’s examine the odds and my best bet for Friday night:

Kings vs. Hawks odds, spread and total

Spread

  • Kings +3 (-110)
  • Hawks -3 (-110)

Moneyline

  • Kings: +130
  • Hawks: -150

Total

181.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Kings vs. Hawks prediction and pick

The Kings dominated in the California Classic, mainly due to the fact that Murray was on another level.

The No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft had 41 points in the team’s second Summer League game, but he won’t play in Las Vegas as the team will look to develop some other players.

I think that makes the Kings a fade-worthy team in this matchup.

The Hawks don’t have a ton of young talent, but first-round pick Kobe Bufkin will join AJ Griffin (last year’s first-round pick) on the roster.

The Hawks also have second-rounders Tyrese Martin (2022) and Seth Lundy (2023) playing in Summer League.

I’ll take Atlanta to get the win against a depleted Kings team.

Pick: Hawks -3 (-110)
