Louisiana Sportsbooks Cool Off In August
Louisiana sportsbooks had a hard time in August. The state's sportsbook claimed $9.7 million in gross revenue, less than half the $20. 7.6% win rate for August was nearly 10 full percentage points lower than the previous month. Handle rose 8.4% to $128.3 million, with $112 million wagered via mobile and online devices.
Louisiana State Police only provide revenue by select categories. The parlay revenue for August was $66.4 million. Football was the primary source of revenue with $3.7 million, followed by baseball with $1.5 million and the catch-all "other" category with golf, tennis, and boxing/MMA wagering.
