Man City vs. Real Madrid Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Defending European Champions Real Madrid travel to The Etihad to take on Manchester City on Wednesday and we've got Tipster Wizard on hand with his best bets for what should be a mouth-watering second leg.

The hosts are on an incredible run of 22 games unbeaten in all competitions which has seen them go four points clear at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand over Arsenal, whose title hopes were ended by Brighton at the weekend.

After a 1-1 away draw at the Bernabeu Stadium, Guardiola’s men are the favourites to progress to the Champions League final as they play the second leg at the Etihad, a venue where they have won all 15 games this year and demolished Bayern Munich 3-0 in the quarter finals.

There are talks of a potential treble being completed by City this season but Guardiola will know they are up against the Champions of Europe who can not be taken lightly as it was the same opponents last season who knocked them out of the semi-finals of this competition.

As for the current European Champions, they come into this game in mixed form, having won three, drawn one and lost two of their last six games in all competitions. However, they did win the Copa del Rey during this run and will still be optimistic of a positive result at the Etihad despite knowing it will be an uphill task.

They ran out 2-0 winners in their last visit to England in this competition against Chelsea but this will be a tougher challenge against perhaps the most in-form team in Europe at the moment.

Team News:

Nathan Ake is doubtful for Manchester City.

David Alaba, Karim Benzema, Rodrygo & Camavinga are all doubtful for Real Madrid.

Man City vs Real Madrid Tips

Bet Builder (Selections Below)

- Over 3 cards in the match

- Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Real Madrid

- Over 20.5 free kicks the match

- Ilkay Gundogan - Over 0.5 shots in the match

The first leg had 22 fouls and four yellow cards but there were several bookable offences where the referee decided to keep his cards in his pocket.

However, we have a referee in charge who averages close to 5 cards per game this season in all competitions and this is the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals with raised stakes and a place in the final at stake.

We should see cynical fouls and time wasting towards the end by the side that is leading as well as arguments with the referee over decisions and that should comfortably lead to 4 cards being dished out again here.

As for the free-kicks, there were 24 awarded in the 1st leg and the “Over 20.5 free-kicks” selection landed in both their meetings last season. Finally, Gundogan is averaging 1.6 shots per game in the Champions League this season and is in supreme goalscoring form having scored four goals in just his last three games for City.

He had two shots in the first leg and should comfortably get another attempt here. Combining these 4 selections gives us a solid bet builder @ 4/5

Ilkay Gundogan to score anytime

Ilkay Gundogan is playing further forward for Manchester City in recent weeks and has scored four goals in just his last Two premier league games for the club.

At 4/1, he is a big price to score against Real Madrid and worth a small 0.25pt stake as our second bet for this game.

Dani Carvajal & Jack Grealish to be carded

Carvajal vs Grealish was a fantastic battle to watch in the first leg and both players were lucky not to be shown yellow cards after Carvajal pushed Grealish onto the advertising boards and Grealish pushed him onto the ground.

There were a total of four fouls committed by Carvajal on Grealish and if we see a repeat of that here then I expect Grealish to react again as he did in the first leg and we have a card-happy ref in Szymon Marciniak who should book both players. Taking this player booking double @ 13/1 with paddypower with a small 0.25u stake.
