Miami Marlins at Seattle Mariners odds and predictions

The Miami Marlins (37-30) and the Seattle Mariners (32-33) play the middle contest of a 3-game interleague series Tuesday at T-Mobile Park. First pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Marlins vs. Mariners odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Mariners lead 1-0

The Marlins were one of the hottest teams in the majors entering this series, winning 12 of their last 15 games, before getting thumped 8-1 in the series opener Monday. The Mariners racked up 10 hits, while the Marlins were limited to a lone solo HR by C Nick Fortes.

The Mariners have managed to win just 4 of their past 12 games but they did look very good in dispatching the Marlins in the series opener. The offense hasn’t been a problem lately, with Seattle averaging a respectable 5.0 runs per game (RPG), but the pitching has been causing issues. The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 outings.

Marlins at Mariners picks and predictions

Prediction

Mariners 6, Marlins 3

The MARINERS (-155) are a solid value at home as moderate favorites.

The Marlins would be the play if this game was in Miami, as Cabrera has a stellar 5-0 record with a 2.61 ERA with a .204 opponent batting average at loanDepot park. However, he is coming off an injury to his hand last time out and has a stinking 0-4 record with a  5.91 ERA and 22 walks in just 32 IP in 7 road outings.

Back the home side to make it 2-for-2 in this interleague series.

The MARINERS -1.5 (+135) are a decent play on the run line.

Seattle has won just 3 times in the past 6 outings, winning by at least 3 runs in each of the victories.

The Marlins are 2-3 straight up in their last 5 games as underdogs, although they are a solid 3-1 in the past 4 on the run line as ‘dogs and have won outright in 6 of their last 9 games as underdogs.

While that sounds like a reason to back the road team, Cabrera’s splits are horrendous away from home. Look to the Marlins in Wednesday’s finale but not in this one.

OVER 8 (+100) is the lean Tuesday.

The Under has dominated for the Marlins lately, cashing in 4 of the past 5 games overall, while also going 4-1 in the past 5 against a right-handed starting pitcher.

The Over is 5-2 in the past 7 games for the M’s while going 4-1 in the past 5 vs. RHP, while cashing at a 4-1 clip in the past 5 against winning teams, too.
