MLB Draft Lottery: D-backs' odds slim in inaugural event
The MLB Draft lottery takes place Tuesday at the Winter Meetings in San Diego. Arizona Diamondbacks have a 1.4% chance of getting the No. 1 overall pick. Washington, Oakland and Pittsburgh have the best odds of the top pick at 16.5%. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati both went 62-100 this season. The players' association pushed for the lottery to discourage teams from trying to get the first pick, which Houston Astros did.
