NASCAR at Watkins Glen Schedule: How to Watch, TV, Odds, Favorites

Watkins Glen International will host the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend. It's an 11-turn road course in Western New York. Watkins Glen has hosted a summer race every year since 1986 except for 2020 due to the pandemic. Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez and Tyler Reddick have won the first four road races of 2022.

Kurt Busch has pulled out of Watkins Glen and next week at Daytona. Kimi Raikkonen, the 2007 F1 World Champion, will make his Cup Series debut for Trackhouse Racing.

The NASCAR race at Watkins Glen takes place on Sunday, August 20th at 3 p.m. ET. The 39-car field will be split into two groups. Each group will get a 20-minute practice session on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 12 p., and two-round qualifying begins after practice at 1 p,m., with the quickest driver getting the pole.

All NASCAR action this weekend will be on USA Network. Practice and qualifying coverage on Saturday starts at 12 p.m. ET on the USA network. Sunday’s coverage starts with Countdown to Green at 2 p., followed by the race at 3 p,m., which can be streamed online and through the NBC Sports app.

Watkins Glen is the penultimate race of the 2022 NASCAR season. Daytona is next week as the final race before the playoffs. Only 16 drivers make the playoff, and drivers secure a berth by winning a race or scoring the most points among non-winners.

Kyle Busch, Elliott, Logano, Hamlin, Harvick, Larson, Truex and Allmendinger have won a Cup race at Watkins Glen. Busy has two wins, while the other six have one victory each.

Elliott is the favorite for Sunday's NASCAR race at Watkins Glen. Chastain, Suarez and Reddick have won the first four races this season. Kyle Busch, AJ Allmendinger and Martin Truex Jr. are also among the favorites.
