NASCAR: Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 Betting Analysis and Predictions

The NASCAR Xfinity Series continues on Friday, April 22, with the heavily-anticipated Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 at the world-renowned Talladega Superspeedway. It will mark the ninth race of the Xfinity Series NASCAR 2022 schedule, and it will be one no NASCAR Xfinity fan should miss, so check the Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 Betting Picks.

But while the Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 will be exciting to watch, it will also provide plenty of excellent betting opportunities, which we will cover in this NASCAR betting preview.

And since the NASCAR odds are already out, let’s not waste any more time and check which drivers you should look out for when betting on Xfinity Ag-Pro 300.

Last races records

The Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 will follow the Call 811 Before You Dig 250, which saw Brandon Jones stun the field and claim his first victory of the season and his first Xfinity race win since the 2022 Sports Clips Haircuts VFW 200 in September 2020.

But even though Jones stood out with his performance at Martinsville, he is not one of the main candidates to win at Talladega, which makes sense, considering he has never won here before.

According to most sports betting guides, Jeb Burton, who won here in 2021, will not race, and neither will Justin Haley, who won in 2020. In fact, the 2022 Ag-pro 300 won’t feature a single past winner.

Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 Betting Picks

Pick 1: A.J. Allmendinger

A.J. Allmendinger is priced as the second favorite to win the 2022 Ag-Pro 300 at +700. He might not be the driver you would think of when asked about the current hottest drivers of the Xfinity Series – that title belongs to Ty Gibbs and Noah Gragson.

Instead, when we talk about Allmendinger, the first thing that comes to mind is consistency. It’s important to note that Allmendinger has led at least 13 laps in eight races and has yet to finish worse than ninth. Moreover, he has five top-5 finishes, which include a runner-up at Daytona and a victory at COTA.

And if his 2022 performances aren’t enough to convince you, Allmendinger is one of the best NASCAR picks for this race; he has also performed well at Talladega before. He placed seventh and 24 here in 2020, but even in the race in which he landed outside of the top-20, Allmendinger led for 24 laps. Last year he finished the spring race in third but failed to show up in fall when he ended 39.

Admittedly, Allmendinger has not won at Talladega, but he has had a few close calls and is definitely a threat for this week’s race.

Pick 2: Daniel Hemric

Priced at +1000, Daniel Hemric is one of the outsiders to win, but we’re ready to believe that he can do it. There is no hiding that Hemric has been extremely disappointing this season, and it wouldn’t be too far from the truth to say that he is the biggest disappointment of 2022.

Across the first eight races of 2022, Hemric’s best result was a third-place finish at Las Vegas, to which he added two top-10s at Phoenix (8) and Richmond (6). But outside of those three, Hemric has not achieved much.

Regardless, we have to remember that Hemric is driving Kaulig Racing’s No.11 car, formerly of Justin Haley. And if we look back at no. 11’s results at Talladega over the last five races show two wins, 6, 8, and a 7-place finish.

Kaulig Racing has always done well at Talladega, but for whatever reason, Haley stood out. Maybe it’s the car?

Pick 3: Jeb Burton

Jeb Burton used to drive for Kaulig but has since moved to Our Motorsports, which did not play out as he intended. So far this season, burton has yet to achieve anything noteworthy, and he has yet to lead a lap nor finish inside the top-10 once.

But regardless of his lack of success this season, Burton should feel hopeful he can turn things around on the track that earned him his first Xfinity Series victory last year. On the topic of Burton’s performance in the 2021 Spring race, he won the race starting from no.9 and with the second-highest rating, so it’s fair to say that Talladega might suit his style.

Is Burton the most appealing NASCAR betting pick for the 2022 Ag-Pro 300? With the form, he has been showing no, but he delivered here last year, and he might do it again.

Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 Betting Trends

  • Kaulin Racing won the last two iterations of Xfinity Ag-Pro 300, with Jeb Burton and Justin Haley winning the race in 2021 and 2020.
  • Martin Truex Jr. is the most successful driver of this race (three wins) and is one of only four multiple-winners besides Joe Nemechek, Joey Logano, and Elliott Sadler.
  • Dale Earnhardt, Inc./Chance 2 and Joe Gibbs Racing are the most successful teams of Ag-Pro 300, with five wins apiece. No other team in history won more than two races.
  • Chevrolet historically dominated at Talladega and has 18 wins, including four straight from 2018 to 2021.
  • Ford (6) and Toyota (4) are the only two other manufacturers with multiple wins on the track

Xfinity Ag-Pro 300 Betting Predictions

We won’t try anything fancy with our NASCAR picks for Ag-Pro 300, nor will we chase big payouts betting on the outsiders. Sometimes simple is better, which is why we’re on A.J. Allmendinger to claim his second victory of the season.

Priced as high as +700, Allmendinger is easily the most consistent driver of the Xfinity Series and rightly one of the main drivers to watch ahead of this race.

He has yet to win a Talladega race in the Xfinity Series, but with the results he has been putting up across the opening eight races of the season, it’s very tough to doubt his chances to come out ahead on Friday.

Prediction: A.J. Allmendinger to win
