NASCAR Xfinity Series: Pennzoil 150 Betting Analysis & Prediction

John H. Nemechek took home his fifth race win of 2023 and Joe Gibbs Racing’s 200th Xfinity Series win at the Cabo Wabo 250 in Michigan. Josh Berry and Brandon Jones finished second and third, respectively, edging out Cup series regular Ty Gibbs, who finished fourth, losing pace on tires.

The Xfinity Series joins the Cup Series and IndyCar on the Indianapolis Motorspeedway’s Road Course this weekend and will feature a few Cup Series regulars who are always favorites in the NASCAR Xfinity Series odds.

However, Nemechek and road-course King AJ Allmendinger headline our Pennzoil 150 betting analysis.

Here are the current NASCAR odds to win and finish in the top five and top ten for this weekend in Indianapolis:

NASCAR Xfinity Series: Pennzoil 150 | 62 Laps (151.218 mi/243.362 KM)

Stage 1/2: 20 Laps | Stage 3: 22 Laps

Location: Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, Indianapolis, IN.

Date and Time: Saturday, August 12th, 2023, 2:30 PM ET

How to Watch: Peacock | NASCAR Live

The Xfinity Series has been racing on Indy’s Road Course since 2012, with each winning driver currently active in the Cup or Xfinity Series. However, only two previous winners on Indy’s road course in the 2023 field.

JR Motorsports‘ Justin Allgaier won at Indy in 2018. However, and most notably, is last year’s winner, one of NASCAR’s road course ringers, AJ Allmendinger.

While you’ve seen Allmendinger’s name repeatedly throughout Insiders Betting Digest’s Pennzoil 150 betting analysis, it’s with good reason he receives such a spotlight: he’s a lock.

Allmendinger has had three top-five finishes at Indy since February 2020, winning the 2022 edition of the Pennzoil 150, and has won on the Xfinity Series in 2023 at Circuit of the Americas and Nashville while finishing second at Sonoma.

Allmendinger to finish in the top ten and top five are among your NASCAR Xfinity Series picks this weekend at Indy.

If there were any questions about John Hunter Nemechek after back-to-back sub-30th place finishes, he answered them definitively by leading the most laps and taking the win in Michigan.

Nemechek’s win was his third win in the last five races and his fifth of the season, giving him 11 top-five and 16 top-five finishes this season.

Insiders Betting Digest favors Nemechek to win the 2023 Xfinity Series Drivers’ Championship and is one of our picks to finish in the top five and top ten in Indy.

While Ty Gibbs only has one top-ten finish in his last two Xfinity Series races at Indy, the 2022 Xfinity Series Champion returns from the Cup Series for a second consecutive week.

Gibbs’ fourth-place finish at Michigan was his fourth top-five finish and fifth top-ten finish on the Xfinity Series this season while having three stage wins.

JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier has one top-five finish and two top-ten finishes in the previous three Xfinity Series races at Indy.

Allgaier claimed pole position at Road America and started on the front row in Michigan, scoring three stage wins in the last two races, with 12 top-ten finishes this season.

  • Insiders Betting Digest is taking AJ Allmendinger to win and Gibbs, Allgaier, Nemechek, and Hill to finish in the top five in our Pennzoil 150 betting analysis.
