NASCAR Xfinity Series: Pit Boss 250 Race Preview & Predictions

Richard Childress Racing-Chevrolet’s Austin Hill is having the start of a season to remember, currently sitting atop the NASCAR standings and scoring three race wins this season.

Hill isn’t at the very top of the betting favorites for the Pit Boss 250, which is occupied by Cup Series regulars. Hill is far and away the favorite to win the 2023 Xfinity Series Drivers’ Championship.

Can anyone challenge Austin in Austin? We’ll explore the recent results and go deep into Circuit of the Americas in our NASCAR Xfinity Series Pit Boss 250 betting analysis.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Pit Boss 250 Odds

Before making any Pit Boss 250 predictions, we must review the NASCAR Xfinity Series odds for this weekend.

Here are our favorites from this weekend’s NASCAR odds:

Circuit of the Americas

As a part of our Pit Boss 250 betting analysis, we’re going to explore the actual circuit itself. This is the first race on the 2023 NASCAR schedule, not on an oval or speedway, providing each driver with a very technical challenge.

Circuit of the Americas (CoTA) in Austin, Texas, is a purpose-built circuit designed with FIA homologation and a Grade 1 rating to accommodate Formula 1. CoTa has been the heart and soul of Formula 1 in America and plays host to everything from F1, Endurance categories, and MotoGP. One lap around CoTA is 20 turns across 3.426 miles and one of our favorite circuits in all of motorsports.

Three long straights give drivers the chance to catch a slipstream and overtake in the corners while watching NASCAR rides climb the hill to turn one, and the fast-flowing cornering complex from turns 2-6 will provide an entirely different challenge for drivers compared to steeply banked ovals.

Drivers will be really challenged at the end of the lap with the slow and technical turns 13-16, while the fast four apexes of turns 17 and 18 will show which teams understand their aerodynamic packages best and which drivers have the skill to conquer CoTA.

Pit Boss 250 Recent Results

There have only been two NASCAR Xfinity Series races at CoTA, and only one winner is returning to the Pit Boss 250 this weekend.

While Kyle Busch took home the inaugural win in 2021 for Joe Gibbs Racing-Toyota, its current odds favorite and 2022 winner at CoTA Kaulig Racing-Chevrolet’s A.J. Allmendinger.

Ready, Set, Go! Pit Boss 250 Prediction

We need to conclude our Pit Boss 250 betting analysis by making out pick to win at CoTA this weekend.

Austin Hill

Austin Hill is among our pics to be near the front, having five top-seven finishes this season.

John Hunter Nemechek

John Hunter Nemechek is second in the Drivers’ Standings, has five top-eight finishes this season, and will be in the mix for his second race win.

Riley Herbst

As a longshot, we like Riley Herbst, who has finished in the top eight in each race this season and has finished in the top five in the last two races. Herbst is currently third in the Xfinity Drivers’ standings and is piecing together an excellent season.

Ty Gibbs

2022 Xfinity Series Champion Ty Gibbs is returning from the Cup series to race at CoTA but finished 12th last season, and we are fading his chances at CoTA this weekend.

Who Will Win the Pit Boss 250?

However, our pick comes down to Championship leader Hill and last year’s winner Allmendinger.

  • Pick: A.J. Allmendinger +200
