Stage 1/2 – 60 laps | Final Stage – 130 laps

Location of the race: Martinsville Speedway, Ridgeway, Virginia.

Date and Time: Saturday, April 15th, 2023, 4:30 PM ET.

How to Watch: FS1 | NASCAR Live

From 1995-2020, the NASCAR scheduledid not feature a support or Xfinity series race. However, Martinsville rejoined the Xfinity Series schedule in 2021.

JR Motorsports-Chevrolet’s Josh Berry won the 2021 edition of this race, and alongside two of his teammates, will be featured in our NASCAR Xfinity Series predictions.

Last year’s stop at Martinsville was won by JR Motorsports-Chevrolet’s Brandon Jones, who was racing for Joe Gibbs Racing-Toyota at the time.

We start our Call811.com betting preview with the current NASCAR standings leader Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Hill. Hill bounced back from his worst finish of the season at Circuit of the Americas to score his sixth top-ten finish this season. Hill has one top-five and two top-ten finishes in his two previous races at Martinsville, with an average finishing position of 6.5.

JR Motorsports-Chevrolet’s Justin Allgaier has three top-five finishes and an average finishing position of 10.0. Allgaier has four top-five finishes this season and claimed pole position for the ToyotaCare 250, but finished 13th at Richmond.

Allgaier’s JR Motorsports teammate Josh Berry has one win in his four recent appearances at Martinsville, finishing 17th on average. Berry won the second stage and finished third at Richmond, and now has three top-five and six top-ten finishes this season.

However, it’s Sam Mayer who could be the JR Motorsports driver to win. Mayer is a long shot and seemingly unlikely to win, having only four top-ten finishes this season. However, Mayer’s recent history at Martinsville is strong: two top-five and three top-ten finishes in his last three races.

This could be the weekend when Mayer puts it together and gets his first career Xfinity Series race win.

Joe Gibbs Racing-Toyota’s John H. Nemechek finished second at Richmond – his second second-place finish this season – and has six top-ten finishes. Nemechek is the only Toyota who has a chance to win at Martinsville, but he has a chance to win every weekend.

Stewart-Haas Racing is the lone Ford in our favorites to win, with Riley Herbst being the driver most likely to land a Ford on Victory Lane. Herbst has four top-ten finishes and an average finishing position of 10.8 in his last five races at Martinsville.

Herbst is currently second in the Drivers’ Standings with six top-ten finishes and fourth place as the highest finishing position.

  • Our Call811.com betting pick to win at Martinsville is JR Motorsports Josh Berry.
  • However, we’re taking a little of our bankroll and putting a small wager on Mayer.
