NBA picks today: Player prop bets to consider include Nikola Jokic, Jalen Suggs for Friday, Dec. 29

We have a busy slate of NBA action to look forward to this evening with 10 games tipping off New Year’s weekend across the league. That presents plenty of opportunities to hit on player props courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook. We’ll go over some of our favorites below.

Nikola Jokic under 13.5 rebounds (+114)

Jokic casually dropped a triple-double in Thursday’s victory over the Grizzlies, putting up 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. He’s at 12.4 boards per game for his season average, but could fall just short of that when facing a tough Thunder team on the back end of a back-to-back. He only pulled down six against OKC a few weeks back and while I don’t think his rebound total will be that low, I’ll still take the under for this matchup.

Fred VanVleet under 2.5 threes (+150)

Houston will host Philadelphia this evening and I wouldn’t anticipate the home team doing much from downtown. The Rockets are shooting just 36% from three and are going up against a 76ers team that has limited opponents to just 30.2% shooting from beyond the arc over their last 10 games. VanVleet is just 2-10 from downtown in his last two games and I think those struggles continue tonight.

Jalen Suggs over 13.5 points (+100)

Suggs has started every game for the Magic this season and is averaging 12.7 ppg on 47.6% shooting. He put up 20 in their loss to the 76ers on Wednesday and I think he’ll get enough looks to come close to that in tonight’s home matchup against the Knicks.

Kevin Huerter over 9.5 points (+100)

Huerter hasn’t played much of a factor during the Kings’ two-game losing skid, scoring just seven combined points in those two outings. However, they are facing a Hawks team that has been gashed for 123.6 ppg over their last 10 outings. Going up against his former team, this is the perfect opportunity for Red Velvet to get back into a rhythm and I’ll take the over on his point total.

Dejounte Murray over 5.5 assists (+124)

Staying with Kings vs. Hawks, Atlanta has been struggling as of late and Murray has been at the center of trade rumors all throughout the week. The veteran has been an important cog in the flow of the team’s offense this year, averaging 20.2 points and 5.3 assists per game. With tonight’s game shaping up to be a track meet, there’s a good chance that he’ll go over his season average in both categories.
