New York Sports Betting: Wagers Reach Over $1 Billion in September
New York State Gaming Commission reports $1 billion in sports bets on sports betting in September. The gross gaming revenue increased from $99.6 million in August to $143.3 million. January was the first month since the state launched sports gambling.
FanDuel is the most popular sportsbook in New York. DraftKings came in second with a handle of $422.2 million. Caesars Sportsbook was the last operator to reach over $100 million in wagers. Bally Bet came last of the 9 mobile operators with $1.1 million handle.
The handle from September 26 – October 2 was the second highest since early May with $322.4 million in wagers. Sportsbooks only had a hold percentage of 5.5%, taking in $17.8 million GGR.
