NHL parlay picks Nov. 1: Bet on Sabres to beat Flyers

A four-game NHL slate still has plenty of parlay potential for bettors looking to make a ticket.

The pregame narrative: The Buffalo Sabres are playing better after a slow start to the season, making them a sensible moneyline pick over the Philadelphia Flyers. Goals will be hard to come by between the Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames, putting plenty of value on the under. Thirdly, the St. Louis Blues are a strong underdog pick against a suddenly stagnant Colorado Avalanche squad.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Sabres moneyline + Stars vs. Flames under 6.5 goals + Blues +2.5 (+380)

Sabres moneyline (-106): Buffalo has looked much better since its season-opening shellacking to the New York Rangers.

The Sabres are a middling 4-4-0 since then, but they own a plus-four goal differential during this stretch. They're coming off their best performance of the season, a 4-0 blowout victory over the Avalanche.

Before that, however, Buffalo played the New Jersey Devils tough in a 5-4 loss and beat the Ottawa Senators 6-4.

The Flyers, meanwhile, have lost four of their last five games and own the ninth-worst save percentage (.889) in the NHL per Natural Stat Trick.

The Sabres' offence, which has scored four-plus goals in three consecutive games, should take advantage of their poor goaltending.

Other parlay picks

Stars vs. Flames under 6.5 goals (-157): Calgary's underwhelming offence and Dallas' stingy defence should keep this game at a low total.

The Flames rank 29th in goals per game (2.11) this season. They've only managed to score three-plus goals twice this year and have failed to do so in five consecutive games.

A breakout performance against the Stars doesn't seem likely. They're ceding the fifth-fewest goals per game (2.43) and have the second-best penalty kill (95.5%) in the league.

The under on this total has hit in five of Dallas' seven games and in three of Calgary's last five.

Blues +2.5 (-200): Backing a couple of goals with St. Louis doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

The Blues are a respectable 3-3-1 this season thanks to excellent goaltending. Jordan Binnington is playing as well as he has since his Stanley Cup win, posting a .926 save percentage in five games.

If he starts, he'll make life difficult for an Avs offence that's already struggling. Colorado has been shut out in back-to-back games and has failed to cover this number in three of its last four.

St. Louis has covered this spread in five of seven contests.
