Following a quick stop in Oakland, the Atlanta Braves will stay on the West Coast and fly up to Seattle for a three-game series against the Mariners this weekend. Friday’s outing will mark the first time that these two teams have met since 2017, so it’s been awhile since interleague play has brought them together.

Atlanta currently sits just half a game behind the New York Mets in the National League East, while Seattle currently holds the second Wild Card spot in the American League.

The Braves are on a seven-game winning streak and have been playing outstanding baseball for more than three months now. Since the calendar flipped to June, they’ve gone an absurd 63-24 (.724 winning percentage).

The Mariners are also coming in hot, having won 10 of their last 13 games and going 40-19 since the start of July.

Tonight could be a slugfest, as both teams feature potent offenses. Atlanta ranks second in runs scored and wRC+, while Seattle ranks ninth in wRC+.

Right-hander Charlie Morton, who owns a 4.01 ERA and a 7-5 record this season, will start for the Braves against reigning AL Cy Young winner Robbie Ray, who’s 12-8 with a 3.45 ERA.

Both teams are dealing with significant injuries at this stage of the season. For Atlanta, right-handers Luke Jackson (elbow) and Darren O’Day (calf), outfielder Adam Duvall (wrist), second-baseman Ozzie Albies (foot) and catcher Manny Pina are all still on the 60-day injured list, while catcher Chadwick Tromp (quad) remains on the 10-day IL.

For Seattle, right fielder Dylan Moore (oblique) is on the 10-day IL and left-hander Ryan Borucki (forearm) is on the 15-day IL, while catcher Tom Murphy (shoulder) and right-hander Casey Sadler remain on the 60-day IL.

Below, we’ll dive into tonight’s best bet and same-game parlay. New to the game? No problem–a simple guide for how to bet baseball is available.

Our Best Bet Today

The Braves are poised to pass the Mets if they can keep pounding out wins. Meanwhile, the Mariners are looking to hold onto their Wild Card spot, which means this should be a fun series to follow with both teams in the playoff hunt.

Both Morton and Ray haven’t been as sharp this season as they have in years past. Morton’s 4.01 ERA is his highest full-season figure since 2015, while Ray’s 3.45 ERA is considerably higher than last year’s 2.84 mark.

Given that, the over to hit in tonight’s game is reasonable, as both starters may struggle against these imposing offenses.

If you were to wager $100 bucks on Over 7 runs on Friday night, your profit would be $84.75.

Braves vs Mariners Best Bet: Over 7 Total Runs (-118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Our Same-Game Parlay

If you’re looking to potentially win some more money, then you can set up a same-game parlay by placing a wager on three different possible outcomes for today’s game.

Here’s one that looks promising in tonight’s matchup:

  • Atlanta Braves -1.5 (+140)
  • Over 7 Total Runs (-118)
  • Julio Rodriguez to Record a Hit (-210)

The Braves have been virtually unbeatable all summer and should be able to outslug the Mariners here with their superior lineup. AL Rookie of the Year frontrunner Julio Rodriguez should also be good for at least one hit tonight after hitting safely in eight of his last nine games.

Wagering $100 on this parlay would result in a $559 profit if it hits.
