Our 2022 Formula 1 season in numbers

F1 loves statistics. Seven decades of accumulated stats lay out the ongoing story of F1 in easily digestible facts and figures.

2022 equals the record for the most races in a season. There will be 22 races, spread across 20 countries. Italy and the USA will have two races each.

McLaren scored 24 times from 44 starts in 2022. Lando scored 17 times, Daniel seven times. McLaren didn't register in five races. The team won three races and finished third in the other three. Bahrain Grand Prix was disappointing, but the team learned from it.

McLaren made 84 pit-stops during the 2022 Formula 1 season. Both drivers had the same number of pit stops, 42. The number is up 30% on 2021. McLaren set the fastest pit stop in Formula One history at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Daniel had the fastest pit-stop of the season in Mexico City. The team finished second in the pit stop table. They had first and second fastest stops in Saudi, Mexico and Abu Dhabi.

Lando has done two fastest laps in the 2022 Formula 1 season. He did one in Round 5 in Monaco and the second in season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The fastest speed of the season through the Speed Trap was 356 km/h at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Lando and Daniel were on the grid for each of the season's 22 races. The Sporting Regs for 2022 required each driver to sacrifice at least one practice session for a rookie. Alex Palou substituted for Daniel in FP1 at the Circuit of Texas, while Pato O’Ward drove Lando”s car in the FP 1 at Yas Marina.

Lando's podium at Imola was their 494th. It was the 399th race at which they've recorded a podium. The top three places in the Constructors' Championship were not taken up by drivers from the top 3 teams in Formula 1's Constructor's Championship.

Lando and Daniel completed 2,448 laps in 2022 Formula 1 season. Lando raced 1,253 laps and Dan 1.195. MCL36 completed 91.69% of the laps set out at the start of season, which was the third highest of all the cars.

2022 was the season for back-to-backs. The shortest distance between two races was 236 km between Francorchamps and Zandvoort. Longest distance was 12,100 km from Sao Paulo to Abu Dhabi.

The 2022 Formula 1 season ended in fifth place. It's the seventh time the team has finished in that position. The team is already busy beavering away on the MCL37.
