F1 Mexican Grand Prix predictions, odds, betting tips, best bets for 2023 race

After winning four of the last five races at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Max Verstappen will very much be looking forward to the 2023 edition of the Mexican Grand Prix.

Last time out, he took the chequered flag again in Austin, Texas to claim the 50th race win of his career but it wasn't without drama.

After starting the race in P6, the Dutchman eventually snatched top spot from Lando Norris before holding off Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton in the final few laps whilst dealing with a brakes issue.

That's likely to give the chasing pack even more encouragement that Verstappen can be caught this time around in Mexico City.

His teammate Sergio Perez will be one of those drivers looking to steal top spot as he returns to his home race in poor form. He eventually finished in P4 last weekend, thanks to the disqualifications of Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, though he hasn't finished on the podium in four consecutive races now as the pressure continues to grow.

Elsewhere, Hamilton himself will be keen to finally record a race win, whilst Norris, Oscar Piastri, George Russell and Leclerc will all want to claim their first win of the season here in Latin America.

Ahead of the action, The Sporting News dives through all of the odds to give you the best bets and tips for the upcoming race.

F1 Mexican Grand Prix 2023: Best bet

  • Pick: Lando Norris to finish on the podium
  • Odds: +150 (BetMGM)

After another very solid showing in Austin last weekend, there's a decent bit of value for Lando Norris to finish on the podium again this weekend in Mexico.

McLaren have arguably been Red Bull's closest competitors since the summer break and a lot of that has been down to the driving of Norris himself. His calm style of driving has seen him take advantage of multiple situations in recent months, with his six podium finishes across his last nine races testament to that.

He's also finished in the top three in each of the previous four races which leaves him well placed again here.

F1 Mexican Grand Prix 2023: Flier bet

  • Pick: Max Verstappen to win by 10+ seconds, have the fastest lap and Red Bull to record the fastest pit stop
  • Odds: +800 (BetMGM)

Max Verstappen may not have won by such a huge margin in Texas last Sunday but here in Mexico, we're backing him to run away with another victory.

During the US Grand Prix, the 2023 world champion had to contend with a brakes issue throughout and still managed to hold off the chasing pack given his impressive pace and form this year.

He also holds stunning pedigree at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, winning four of the last five races and he should be well-placed to pump in the quickest lap time along the way.

On top of that, Red Bull's pit crew continue to work their magic this season. They've recorded the fastest pit stop in the lion's share of races which leaves them likely to achieve that feat again this weekend.
