Pa. native, Pro Football Hall of Famer who played various positions dies at 100
Charley Trippi died at his Athens home at the age of 100. Tripper played college football at Georgia and was a runner-up for the Heisman Trophy at that school. He was drafted by the Cardinals and played for them until the team moved to St. Louis in 1960. The Cardinals won the NFL championship in 1947. On Dec. 14, 2021, Trippers will celebrate his 100th birthday. Clarence “Ace” Parker died on Nov. 6, 2013, at age 101. . . ..
