Packers vs. Falcons Predictions, Picks & Odds Week 2

The Green Bay Packers are visiting the Atlanta Falcons in a Week 2 matchup featuring two 1-0 teams, and we'll be discussing our top predictions for the Packers vs. Falcons game based on the best NFL odds from our best sports betting apps.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love ushered in a new era in style in Week 1. He threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns during a 38-20 road victory over  the Chicago Bears.

The Atlanta Falcons also opened their season with a 1-0 record, thanks to a 14-point fourth-quarter rally that secured a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. In his NFL debut, Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson scored a touchdown, but it was Tyler Allgeier who stole the spotlight by amassing 15 carries for 75 yards and scoring two touchdowns.

Here is our best Packers vs. Falcons prediction and our NFL picksNFL upset picks and NFL player props (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Packers vs. Falcons prediction

Packers -1.5 (+100 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Packers walloped the Bears in their first game of the season, and we think they’re going to move to 2-0 with a favorable matchup against the Falcons. The Falcons’ rushing attack is one of the best in the NFL, but they don’t have a passing game at all. Desmond Ridder was 15-for-18 in Week 1, but he only managed 115 yards and nine of his completions were to running backs.

The Packers did give up 122 rushing yards in Week 1 — tied for seventh-most in the league — but it wasn’t the Bears’ running backs who compiled yards, it was Justin Fields who accounted for 59. Ridder only ran once in Week 1, so while this may look like a good matchup for the Falcons’ rushing attack on paper, when you look closer, it’s really not.

The Falcons’ defense picked off Bryce Young twice, but they did allow 132 rushing yards in the game. Aaron Jones may not be able to go for the Packers on Sunday, but even if he doesn’t, AJ Dillon will have no problem taking advantage of a weak rush defense.

The Packers may not be as good as they looked in Week 1, but there is no denying that Love had a great game. He is light years ahead of where the Panthers’ Young is, and that’s going to cause problems for the Falcons’ secondary. Find the best price you can, and take this up to 2.5.

Editor’s note: Green Bay running back Aaron Jones and wide receiver Christian Watson are not expected to play against the Falcons in Week 2, per Ian Rapport.

Packers vs. Falcons best odds

All of our best sports betting apps are offering the spread at -1 except for FanDuel. Because we think this is such a good matchup for the Packers, we’re recommending that you take the slightly larger spread for the significantly better price.

You could even consider taking this number at -2.5 for +110, though we’d wait and see if you can get a better price. Since this line is essentially a pick ‘em at the moment, if you end up seeing a moneyline for the Packers at a better price than FanDuel is currently offering, you should take it.

Packers vs. Falcons odds

The Packers opened as 1-point favorites, and that is where the spread has stayed. At the moment, 53% of wagers back the Packers. With such little support, it doesn’t seem like this line is going to move much at all. This is essentially a pick ‘em, so it may be worth following the moneyline price. FanDuel is currently offering the best price for the Packers at -108.

The total opened at 40.5, and that is where it has stayed, despite 60% of wagers backing the Over. The Falcons are a run-first offense, but the Packers did look really good offensively in Week 1. Without enough information, it’s unlikely this number moves more than a point in either direction.
