Premier League: Betting Matchweek 13

After plenty of turkey and American Football the past 24 hours, let’s talk The World’s Most Beautiful Game and specifically, the Premier League. Matchweek 13 features interesting matchups throughout the fixture. Let’s find a couple plays from each match.

Manchester City v. Liverpool

A clash of teams at the top of the Table. Each loves to attack and test the opponent’s backline. Both City and Liverpool average 6.67 corners per game. Makes sense to play OVER 9.5 corners (-120) and perhaps OVER 10.5 corners (+138). In addition, Liverpool has conceded an average of one goal in the 1 Half of games this season. City has been dominant at home outscoring opponents 10 -1 in the first 45 at Etihad. OVER 1.5 Total Goals in the 1 Half (+110) is realistic.

Everton v. Manchester United

It’s an “Us against the World” mentality at Goodison Park following the Premier League sanctions levied last week. That emotion may fuel them for a time as they take to the pitch against the Red Devils. A sprinkle on Everton to score 1 (+105) is worthwhile but as the game wears on expect Manchester United to mount an attack. The Red Devils average 7 corners per game and so OVER 5.5 corners (+105) is plausible.

Tottenham v. Aston Villa

A clash of two clubs who have overachieved in the eyes of many at this point in the season. Each brings a potent offense into this one. Few have been better than Ollie Watkins this season. Expecting the Villains’ sniper to strike again (+130) is not out of the question. For their part, Spurs have won the second half of their games 80% of the time this season. Expect that trend to continue (+145).

Brentford v. Arsenal

These two clubs have combined to score 28 goals in the 2 half of their games this season (Brentford – 10 / Arsenal – 18). It will be a sweat. BTTS in the 2 half (+225). To that end, Arsenal’s attack is relentless most weeks. No club earns more corners. The Gunners OVER 5.5 corners (-120) is our second look for this match.

Fulham v. Wolverhampton

Neither Fulham at home nor Wolves away have scored a 1 half goal this season. Why mess with a streak?! A scoreless 1 half (+100). The game has to open up somewhat in the 2 half, doesn’t it? OVER 1.5 Total Goals is an ask of these clubs, but the value (+120) is apparent.

Nottingham Forest v. Brighton

Opposite of the Fulham/Wolves’ match, the Reds and the Seagulls can score. Both Forest at home and Brighton away have scored in every 2 half. BTTS 2 half (+185). If we are betting BTTS 2 half, OVER 2.5 Total Goals (-145) fits the narrative.

Sheffield United v. Bournemouth

Bournemouth is the better club no matter where these clubs meet. Take the Cherries ML (+120). That said, neither of these clubs has kept a clean sheet in the 2 half of any of their respective matches. BTTS 2 half (+200) appears to be a popular play this week.

Luton Town v. Crystal Palace

Luton Town have never scored more than a single goal in any game this season at Kenilworth Road. Can Palace score more than one on the road? Doubtful as they have scored six total away from Selhurst Park. UNDER 2.5 Total Goals (-150) does not present much value but should cash. Somewhat correlated is the match to end in a draw (+230).

Newcastle v. Chelsea

This match is one of the more intriguing of the weekend. Newcastle have kept a clean sheet in winning each of their last four at St. James’ Park while Chelsea have suddenly found a bit of offense scoring 8 in their last two matches and 10 in their last three on the road. Which style wins this weekend? As much as its fun watching Chelsea start to put it together on offense, the Blues are slowed by the Magpies. Newcastle ML (+150). That said, Chelsea will spend time in Newcastle’s end. Take Chelsea corners OVER 4.5 (-145).

Burnley v. West Ham

The Clarets have conceded the first goal in all their matches this season. West Ham is not exactly a juggernaut on offense away from Boleyn Ground but likely they get off to a good start at Turf Moor. West Ham 1 half ML(+155) for those seeking a sweat. For those confident in the Hammers full game (+100) the sweat is less profuse.
