Racing: Last chance at Derby glory for New Zealand trainer Murray Baker
Murray Baker retires from training on May 1. He has trained horses to win a number of Group 1s, including five ATC Derbys, two New Zealand Derbies and the Victoria Derby. Baker has two more chances at Group One glory today, when Lickety Split competes in the Sires' Produce at Awapuni and when Regal Lion and White Noise take part in A$2 million A TC Derby at Randwick in Sydney. Mark Walker will take over at Te Akau as head trainer. The Chosen One will contest the Sydney Cup next Saturday. There will be Kiwi interest in TJ Smith Stakes, featuring giant-killer mare Roch 'N' Horse.
