Red Wings vs Sharks: Use promo MLIVEMGM, get $1,500 bonus

Our Detroit Red Wings are 3-9-1 in their last 13 games dating back to Dec. 7. The 6-11 Sharks are the worst team in the league, so this might be the surest bet in the NHL tonight. All new players who sign up on BetMGM using promo code MLIVEMGM, are given up to $1,500 in bonus bets if their first bet loses.

This means BetMGM Sportsbookis allowing you to bet with zero risk of losing your own money. Just click the banner below to get started.

The promise of the season’s first two months seems like a distant memory. Detroit has been playing stiff and uneven the last few weeks, slipping in the playoff standings as we near the midway point of the NHL season. It’s not too late to check out the collection of valuable welcome bonuses available on Michigan’s top NHL sportsbooks.

Ceasars Sportsbooks is currently offering all new sign-ups who use promo code SLMLIVE1000, a $1,000 first bet. Taking advantage of this valuable welcome bonus could win you $537.63. Just click the below banner to claim.

In their last 10 losses, the Red Wings are allowing 4.3 goals per game. Even if Steve Yzerman could come out of the front office, drink a magic elixir, and magically be 22 years old again, Detroit would have difficulty winning under such defensive lapses.

Jeff Petry, Moritz Seider, Ben Chiarot must skate and defend better from the defensive side of the centerline. Lately, Jake LD Walman and Chiarot have played better as scorers, but the Wings are allowing teams to get too deep in their zone, and not playing physical enough.

Petry has seen more ice time in his last two games than at any time since early December. It may be a case of Derek Lalonde trying to give him a kick: Petry needs to lead the right side of the Detroit defense into a more aggressive stance.

Somehow, Petry has lost his moxie: in the first 11 games of the season, the Ann Arbor native averaged one Shot on Goal every 12 minutes. Since, he’s averaged a SOG every 20 minutes. The added ice time should continue on Tuesday against the Sharks. We like “Peaches Junior” to score his second goal of the season in California.

The Wings can slip the puck into the net, and against a porous Sharks defense, should have no trouble getting at least four scores. The way the Wings are playing defense, we suspect the Sharks will go above their 2.03 Goals Per Game.

The Sharks take the fewest shots and score at a lower rate than any team in the league. San Jose has allowed 1,052 scoring chances, which is 205 more than Detroit has allowed this season, and by far the worst figure in the NHL.

This game may be closer than you’d think, because the Wings are getting spotty play in the net, but we expect Detroit to emerge victorious. Most sportsbooks have Detroit at +185 on the road. That means you’ll need to bet $185 to win $100 on Detroit to win straight up on the moneyline.
