Surging Weber State football hosts sliding Eastern Washington for homecoming

No. 7 Weber State football hosts No. 24 Eastern Washington on Saturday. Last year, Weber beat Eastern 35-34. This year's game is earlier in the calendar. Eastern has the worst run defense in FCS.  Eastern Washington has played road games at Oregon and Florida. It gave up more rushing yards at home to its two FSC opponents. The team is 0-4 this season and lost to a Division II team. They won their season opener against Tennessee State. Their opponents are also struggling.  They are allowing 295.5 rushingyards per game. EWU has allowed a third-worst 6.22 yards per carry.

Gunner Talkington is the new quarterback for Eastern Washington. He's thrown for 886 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions in four games. The team has shown it can move the football even against the likes of Florida. The leading rusher Micah Smith is running at 5.3 yards per carry and Justice Jackson is 24 yards a game.
