Monmouth Park revs up for the TVG.com Haskell Stakes on July 23. Santa Anita ends its summer season on Sunday with the G3 San Juan Capistrano Stake. Phil D'Amato has two horses entered in the San Juan Capstrano. He is trying to catch the late Hall of Famer, Charlie Whittingham, who won the race 14 times.

Princess Grace has won four races in a row, including a third-place finish in the G1 Matriarch at Del Mar last November. Shug McGaughey brings Vigilantes Way back to Monmouth Park to defend her Eatontown Stakes title.
TVG.com Pegasus Stakes is a key prep for the TVGcom Haskell at Monmouth Park. Home Brew and Electability are the favorites. The Quality Road colt has yet to win a stakes but came third in the G3 Peter Pan.
Chad Brown has won the last five Monmouth Stakes. Two of his horses are entered in this year's renewal. French-bred Sacred Life has been competitive against Grade 1 company. English- bred Public Sector was a two-time graded stakes winner last year. Graded stakes Winner Tax comes back from a 17-month layoff for trainer Danny Gargan. Long shot Epic Bromance is a horse with two wins, one second and one third in four starts.
Hot Rod Charlie returns to Monmouth Park for trainer Doug O'Neill after a strong performance in the $12 million Dubai World Cup. Mike Smith is riding Hot Rod. Mind Control is sent back to the Monmmouth. Shirl's Speight is a Grade 1 winner on turf for Roger Attfield.
The Santa Maria Stakes takes place at Santa Anita on Saturday at 7:00 PM. Private Mission is the favorite. Four of the starters have registered graded stakes wins. Varda is winless in two starts since a G1 victory in the Starlet Stake at Los Alamitos in 2020. Lady Mystify won the G3 Remington Park Oaks for trainer Peter Eurton last September. Blue Stripe came third in G2 Doubledogdare at Keeneland on April 22.
Phil D'Amato has two contenders in his bid for a fourth consecutive San Juan Capistrano Stakes at Santa Anita. Irish-bred Rijeka has won two of three starts for D’Amatos. Joe Bravo rides Red King. Brandon Walsh ships Irish bred Modus Operandi.
The American Stakes is the final of 11 races on the closing day of the Santa Anita meet. There is no standout favorite. Leading trainer Phil D'Amato has two entered. Jack Sisterson returns to California after being based in the Midwest. Kentucky Pharoah is primed off a strong effort at Pimlico on May 20.
