The O’Briens Will Bring a Strong Team to Australia

Aidan and Joseph O'Brien have a lot of international entries in the Melbourne Cup. They have no fewer than 16 each. Only 13 international runners were declared in total at the same time last year.   The announcement of entries for the 2022 Melbourne Cups and Cox Plate and Caulfield Cups will be made on Tuesday 2nd August.

Joseph O'Brien has trained two Melbourne Cup winners before the age of 28. Aidan O’Brien trained Aikhal, Bluegrass, Changingoftheguard, Point Londsdale, United Nations, Waterville, Benaud, Cleveland, Gear Up, Master of Reality, Okita Soushi, point Gellibrand, points Point King, Raise You, Temple of Artemis. The current list of 186 names declared for the Melbourne Cups is whittled down to 24.
