Top 25 Week 13 Prop Bets & Picks: Michael Penix Jr., Ollie Gordon II Headline Best Plays

It’s time for the always-fun Top-25 prop bets of the week. And the college football hot picks for today feature two of the biggest names in the sport, along with a player that’s been on the rise over the past few weeks.

We’re going to dive right in by targeting one of the nation’s best running backs who draws an elite-level matchup, and then two teams who’ll be playing their “rivalry week” games and have specifically impressive spots.

Here’s a look at some NCAA football odds to consider!

Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II Keeps Dominant Season Going

After one mediocre showing in a 45-3 loss to UCF when Ollie Gordon II rushed for 25 yards, he reverted right back to form against Houston, tallying 164 yards on the ground with three touchdowns. That’s great news for Oklahoma State fans, but not such wonderful news for BYU, which gets the tall task of slowing Gordon this week.

The Cougars have allowed 177.3 rushing yards per game, which is more than Gordon’s last opponent, as Houston allowed just over 160 yards per game. Gordon should be in for another huge workload with plenty of opportunity to roll right past his over/under for rushing yards, which is currently set at 130½.

Washington QB Michael Penix Puts Up Monster Performance

Following three consecutive games in which Washington star quarterback Michael Penix has thrown for exactly two touchdowns in matchups against Top-25 opponents, the Huskies get what should be a slightly less stressful matchup, all things included. While it is a rivalry game when they face Washington State, the Cougars are 5-6 and 2-6 in Pac-12 play.

I’m banking on this being the game where Penix turns things back to earlier this season and has a vintage three- or four-touchdown passing performance, and I’ll happily grab him at the over on 2½ touchdown passes.

Clemson RB Phil Mafah’s Red-Hot Finish Trucks On

In the midst of Clemson’s strong late-season run back into the Top 25, it appears that the shift to handing over the bulk of the workload in the running game to Phil Mafah has reached “full-go” levels. In the past four games, Mafah has totaled 92 carries while topping 84 yards in every game and scoring five touchdowns.

His most impressive showing came in a 36-carry, 186-yard performance against Notre Dame. Now, Mafah and the Tigers are facing the rival South Carolina Gamecocks with a chance to make sure their season ends below the .500 mark.

While this could be a tough spot to make a college football score prediction, the Gamecocks have allowed 143.1 rushing yards per game, and with the bulk of the rushing workload going to Mafah, I think he clears 82½ rushing yards easily.

Let’s take a closer look at some college football odds and college football lines worth considering!
