The 2022 MLB trade deadline has passed. The Yankees, Dodgers and Astros are still the favorites to win the World Series. However, the Padres made a number of franchise-shifting moves that could change the outcome.

GM Brian Cashman made several trades during the deadline week, most notably acquiring Andrew Benintendi and Frankie Montas. Scott Efross and Lou Trivino are formidable enough to pitch in high-leverage spots down the stretch. Jordan Montgomery was traded to St. Louis for Harrison Bader. Joey Gallo was sent to Los Angeles.
The Dodgers have the best record in baseball and are the top seed in the NL. Houston's offense is fourth in wRC+ and its pitching staff is second in WHIP. The Astros have +437 odds to win the 2022 World Series.
The New York Mets didn't make any significant acquisitions at the trade deadline. The team's biggest acquisition was Jacob deGrom's return from a shoulder injury. New Yorkers are priced with the fourth-lowest odds to win the 2022 World Series.
The San Diego Padres made big moves at the trade deadline. They acquired Juan Soto, Josh Bell, and Josh Hader. Brandon Drury was also added. The Padres are 11.5 games out of first place in the NL West. Their World Series odds have increased to 10-1 from 20-2.
