US PGA Championship 2022 tips: 5 predictions for who could win at Southern Hills and the latest winner odds

The US PGA Championship is the third major championship on the Pga Tour. It is less prestigious than the other two majors, held by the U.S. Golf Association and Augusta National. The prize fund is $12m (£9.6m) and the field is mostly professional players. Phil Mickelson is not defending champion.

Shane Lowry is the favourite to win the US PGA Championship 2022 at Southern Hills. He was second in his first tournament in the Honda Classic and third at the Masters and RBC Heritage last month.

Sam Burns is 50-1 to win the US PGA Championship 2022. He won his second Pga Tour title at Sandersons Farms Championship in 2021.

He has missed five cuts in ten this year, but he won at the Valspar and was second at Zurich Classic.

Wyatt Worthington II is a teaching pro from Ohio. He is the second African-American to qualify for the APGA Tour. The tour is aimed at bringing "greater diversity to the game of golf".
