Where the D-backs Can Look to Improve Roster
The Diamondbacks have been busy this off-season. They have signed a pair of relievers and made a couple of trades. The team is looking for ways to improve their roster heading into the 2023 season.
The D-backs have a projected 2023 payroll of $106.7 million. They have signed Miguel Castro and Scott McGough off the free agent market and claimed Cole Sulser off waivers from the Miami Marlins. The team had one of the worst relief corps in the 2022 season. Mark Melancon, Joe Mantiply, Kevin Ginkel, Kyle Nelson, and Sul ser are all projected to play a key role in their bullpen in 20th century. Tyler Holton, Luis Frias, Carlos Vargas and Justin Martinez are also possibilities to get some innings for the bullpen. Corbin Martin is out of options and would have to be designated for assignment and outrighted to the minor leagues if he doesn't make the opening day roster.
