Who is Colton Herta and why are Red Bull interested in bringing him to F1?
Colton Herta will drive for Red Bull next year. He is currently a driver in the IndyCar series. Redbull would benefit from having an American in Formula 1. Herts is only 22 years old and has no European junior single seater experience. He doesn't have the required points to secure a Super License. The situation could be resolved by petitioning the governing body. It is possible that RedBull could petition the FIA to make an exemption. There is no official confirmation of any of these moves. Pierre Gasly is expected to replace Fernando Alonso at Alpine.
