Jaguars vs. Saints Predictions, Picks & Odds Week 7: Thursday Night Football

We’re fading two struggling offenses on a short week in our Jaguars-Saints prediction for Thursday Night Football based on the best NFL odds from our best sports betting sites.

The New Orleans Saints (3-3) have lost three of four games to fall back to .500 on the campaign after a 2-0 start. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2) are riding high following three consecutive victories, vaulting them into first place in the AFC South.

To accompany our Thursday Night Football odds, here is our best Jaguars-Saints prediction for Thursday Night Football (odds via our best NFL betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Jaguars vs. Saints prediction: Thursday Night Football

Under 40.5 (-110 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐

The New Orleans Saints have lost three of their last four games, but those struggles are no fault of their defense. The Saints have allowed an average of 16 points per game during that four-game stretch while holding five of six opponents to 20 points or fewer. They limited C.J. Stroud to a season-low 199 passing yards during Sunday's 20-13 road loss to the Houston Texans.

Meanwhile, If you simply look at the final score of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 37-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, it would be easy to think the team's offense finally broke out. But that was far from the case, as Indy's turnovers set up most of the Jags’ points. Jacksonville averaged less than three yards per carry while collecting just 17 first downs on the afternoon.

There are also questions about the health of Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who left the club's Week 6 game late in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury. Even if Lawrence suits up on Thursday, his mobility — a big part of the signal-caller's game — will likely be hampered on a short week for Jacksonville. That short turnaround also won't help a Jaguars offense that's been on the road a lot lately, recently returning from two straight games in London.

New Orleans’ offense isn’t exactly on fire these days either, eclipsing 20 points just once through its first six contests. The Saints didn’t reach the end zone in any of their three red-zone trips versus the Texans, and while Derek Carr produced 353 passing yards, he did it on 50 pass attempts. Seven of his completions were to Alvin Kamara for just 36 yards, indicating how conservative and methodical this New Orleans attack is right now.

Jaguars vs. Saints best odds

All of our best sportsbooks have moved the total down from the opening number. But Caesars and FanDuel weren’t as aggressive and now offer Under bettors the chance to get the hook on the key number of 40.

Better yet, Caesars isn't charging any extra juice on either side, making it one of the best sports betting sites for Under bettors ahead of this matchup.

Jaguars vs. Saints odds for Thursday Night Football

Early betting action caused the favorite to flip from Jacksonville to New Orleans, with the Saints moving out to as high as -2 at a few of the best live betting sites come Monday afternoon. If news breaks that Lawrence’s injury is more serious than initially anticipated, we could see this line hit -3 or higher before kickoff.

The Under is also generating interest due to Lawrence’s uncertain status and a short week for both teams. The total quickly dropped a couple of points from a consensus opener of 42.5.
