The Oakland Athletics remain on the road Wednesday night for game three of four in Seattle against the Seattle Mariners. Oakland comes into Wednesday 29 games below .500 after losing eight of the last nine including five in a row following a nine run blowout loss in game one of this series. Kyle Muller got the start for Oakland giving up six runs on eight hits across 5 innings of work leading to the loss. The Oakland bullpen was just as bad giving up five more runs on five hits over the final three innings of the game.
Offensively Oakland was terrible with just five hits in 32 at bats including none with runners in scoring position to leave six men on base. Brent Rooker and Seth Brown were the only bright spots in the Oakland lineup combining for two hits in eight at bats to drive in one run each. Esteury Ruiz and Ryan Noda provided some life for the Oakland lineup as well with one hit apiece.
The Seattle Mariners remain at home Wednesday night one game below .500 after winning two of the last three following the 11-2 win in game one of this series on Monday. Luis Castillo Got the start for Seattle giving up no runs on four hits across 6 innings to pick up the victory. The Seattle bullpen was fantastic as well giving up two runs on one hit over the final three innings to secure the win.
Offensively Seattle dominated the game with thirteen hits in 37 at bats including six with runners in scoring position to plate 11 total runs. Jose Caballero and Jarred Kelenic led the show for the Seattle offense as each player hit one home run and drove in three runs as well. Eugenio Suarez chipped in two hits in five at bats to drive in three runs, while Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh drove in one run each.
Seattle is by far the better team here and has dominated this series all year. Oakland is the worst team in baseball and will continue to have issues Wednesday. Take the Mariners to again roll to an easy win Wednesday night at home. Final Score Prediction, Seattle Mariners win and cover 8-2.
