Houston Astros at Atlanta Braves 3/15/23
The Houston Astros will be in North Port, FL Wednesday afternoon for a spring training game against the Atlanta Braves. Houston comes into Wednesday one game above .500 spring following a 7-6 lost to the Washington Nationals. Framber Valdez got the start for Houston giving up one run on four hits across 4 innings resulting in a note of decision. The Houston bullpen held true allowing only one run on two hits over the next 3 innings before Jojanse Torres came on and relieved to give up five runs on three hits after recording just two outs leading to the Houston loss.

The Atlanta Braves roll into Wednesday one game above .500 this spring on a 2 game win streak after a one run win over the Baltimore Orioles. Dylan Dodd got the start for Atlanta giving up no runs on two hits across 4 innings leading to a no decision. The Braves bullpen struggled a bit as Jackson Stevens gave up five runs on four hits after recording just one out, but Trey Riley came on in relief to give up no runs on no hits after recording two outs to get the win for Atlanta.
Offensively the Braves were mediocre at the plate against Baltimore with ten hits in 28 bats including three hits with runners in scoring position to score six runs. Eli White led the way for the Atlanta offense with three hits and three at bats including two home runs to drive in three of the six Atlanta runs. Braden Shewmake chipped in one hit in three at bats to drive in two runs, while Jordan Luplow went 2-3 on the day to drive in the 6th Atlanta run as well.
The Atlanta Braves come into Wednesday playing the slightly better baseball and will continue that trend against Houston.
