2023 FedEx Cup predictions: Golf picks, odds, futures, best bets

The PGA Tour is on its annual winter break. The Sentry Tournament of Champions starts the first week of January. It's nearly non-stop golf until the FedEx Cup playoffs in late August.

Rory McIlroy is the favorite to win the FedEx Cup this year. He is currently at +550. Last year he became the first player to become the three-time FedEx champion. McIroy won his only tournament of the season at the CJ Cup in South Carolina in late October.

Scottie Scheffler came roaring onto the golf scene last season, winning four tournaments and finishing in the top five in 10 of his 25 events. Schefler held the FedEx Cup standings until the final tournament, when Rory McIlroy won the TOUR Championship. Oddsmakers expect Schelfler to be right in contention again this season.

Matt Fitzpatrick won the U.S. Open last year. Kim is a promising young golfer who is still not allowed to drink alcohol. He won Shriners Children's Open in October. If he wins the FedEx Cup, he will become the youngest winner since Jordan Spieth in 2015.  

Seamus Power is first in the FedEx Cup standings. He has won three of his last four tournaments. Power has already played in six tournaments this season. Last season he finished in top 15 at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open. He is worth sprinkling a few bucks on at Caesars Sportsbook.
