The 2023 BMW Championship is set to get underway on Thursday with the first tee times coming at 9:26 a.m. ET, and a number of players will enter Olympia Fields Country Club confident they can secure the victory. Patrick Cantlay enters the BMW Championship 2023 as the back-to-back defending champion, and he's coming off a T-2 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Cantlay currently ranks fifth in the FedEx Cup standings after finishing T-4 or better in two of his last four starts.

Meanwhile, Lucas Glover is coming off back-to-back victories in consecutive weeks, catapulting the 43-year-old to No. 4 in the FedEx Cup standings. The latest 2023 BMW Championship odds list Cantlay among the favorites at 10-1, while Glover is a 28-1 longshot on the PGA odds board. Other BMW Championship contenders include Rory McIlroy (13-2), Scottie Scheffler (7-1) and Jon Rahm (9-1). Before locking in your 2023 BMW Championship picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up more than $9,200 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scottie Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, the model included Nick Taylor in its best bets to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. That bet hit at +7000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,900. McClure's best bets also included Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the 2023 BMW Championship field is set, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2023 BMW Championship predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the BMW Championship 2023: Scheffler, the top-ranked player in the world and one of the favorites this week, stumbles and doesn't even crack the top three. He got off to a red-hot start this season when he won a pair of tournaments before the end of March, but he has not won a tournament since then.

Scheffler is coming off back-to-back finishes outside the top 20, failing to crack the top 30 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in the first leg of the playoffs. He ranks No. 146 on the PGA Tour in strokes gained from putting and is outside the top 100 in putts per round, which are concerning numbers heading into a huge tournament. The model prefers several other golfers with more appealing odds this week.

Another surprise: Tyrrell Hatton, a 22-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. Hatton has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday.

Hatton has been hitting the ball extremely well off the tee this season, ranking 11th in strokes gained: off the tee (0.578). He's been just as good on the green, ranking seventh in strokes gained: putting (0.618) and 13th in putting average (1.715). He also ranks inside the top 20 in strokes gained: total (1.918), strokes gained: approach to green (0.608), scoring average (69.49) and one-putt percentage (42.86%). Hatton is one of the top value picks that should be all over your radar. See who else to pick here.
